Whilst watching walkingrek procrastinate over the Sabs V Report, I unearthed, and ‘corrected’ an old photo from the 2-800-THUNK launch at the East Village Bar nearly a year ago. I got drunk that night. I may or may not have shouted things.
domain craziness
In a recent spate of domain-purchasing craziness, I have added to my growing list of domains to be delegated. Those marked with an asterisk (*) were purchased on behalf of others. The contestants are:
d-floor.com
walkingrek.com*
snotbiscuit.com*
slutbiscuit.com
mikovic.com*
Hopefully Spong will do something with snotbiscuit.com, so that I can parody him with slutbiscuit.com. Mine will be ‘racier’.
regular craziness
Today’s update brings minor, but important additions to the land that time forgot. I have finally added something to the affiliates page, since I received a link from Taelleon. OMG - an anti-linux page. Affiliates was formerly known as ‘leeches’. I have also added in the sabs V report, in an effort to de-procrastinate the walkingrek. Of course, when she does write the copy I will be screwed, because I haven’t got the photos developed yet. Oh yeah, and I just knocked together a world domination page, and a contacts page.

I now have an online store. I have called it darrynShop™ and it is full of Star Wars stuff at the moment. The most I get from any sale is 15 cents, but I am not really doing it for the money. I am doing it because I can.
I have been busily scanning away, and in the next week will unveil Stage II of the photos section - the world until now. Another big upcoming event for darryn.net will be the Sabotage 5 review, to be penned by our very own walking rek. I took a disposable camera along, so there should be some interesting photos when they get developed.
But the big news - I FOUND ANOTHER BROWSER THAT CAN SEE ME!!! You read right - IE5 is not alone in the darryn.net-compatible browser market. Neoplanet shows darryn.net the way it is intended, and it also rocks, to boot. Don’t even think about Opera - practically the whole site is invisible, except for my java heads in the logo, and they seem to have developed a mouse over event that plays the page load sound. The fire doesn’t burn either. Stupid Opera.

Well, what an exciting day it has been today. I have managed to get the archive running in some sort of order, as well as adding some rambling text explaining(?) its contents. I also discovered an interesting fact. Guess who is president of the UTSLSS? None other than our very own Baby Spice. Click for proof.
I also added Beta 1 of the darrynpaint™ experiment. It works - except that you cannot actually save any of the pictures. Back to the drawing board. I also have added a startup sound from Counterstrike. Apologies to olden-days style modem users. Dammit, that sound is getting tedious already. I think that its lifespan shall be very limited.
I am still in a quandary about what to about the CSS on this website. Currently darryn.net looks like shit in any browser other than IE5. I will gladly accept any suggestions. email me at dj@darryn.net
I was also shattered to find someone else’s page with a far more comprehensive rules of shotgun page. This had EVERYTHING that I had planned, plus more. The bastards must have retroactively stolen my idea, eh swamp?

I had the photos of my New Zealand adventure developed today. I have scanned in the better of them and upped them for your perusal here. Thank god for Debabelizer and JavaScript, tonight they were my two best friends. I would also like to thank radium for the scripts I stole, modified, and used for the photo page.
In other news you can obviously see that I DID end up getting a flaming logo. I used classes developed by the AnfyTeam, and since I used them for my domain, I bought them. For $20 US it isn’t much of a sting, and you get FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! You can even make it blue, if you want. I plan on adding in another of their applets, a little java paint program that actually allows saving (it sends a .jpeg to a nominated email address).
All of the New Zealand photos were taken with disposable cameras. I was both impressed and disappointed with the quality of the shots. They were a lot clearer than I had expected, at least for long distance shots of still objects, but up close they were a little blurry.

Tonight I added a little bit of colour to the website. I also started writing the rules of shotgun page. This is sure to be a controversial choice. I am still not sure what to do with the top left corner - I need something blue there, of that I am sure. COOL…I know…FIRE!!!!! (only blue). I could have a FLAMING LOGO!! this is the mark of a quality website.
I wish I could have frames without having frames. this would kick ass. I want to include as easily as a frames page, but with individual page names rather than framesets. Don’t mention ASP to me. I don’t wanna know.
PLAN: tomorrow I will try and do the archive - that will chock the content meter up a few notches, with little effort on my part. Maybe I could get the world domination scheme rolling. Heheh… soon the world will be ours.
Apologies to old / crap browser users - this site was designed for IE5 and looks like crap in any other browser. Let me assure you that in IE5 it look absolutely stunning. You should install IE5 (after disabling that troublesome antivirus software, of course). Umm, maybe I was overly ambitious with the stylesheets. I should have checked if olden-days browsers could read them properly before charging ahead. Never mind, you’ll soon catch up.

Well, here it is. I have finally got around to doing a website. All with pretty? design and everything, only there is a problem - what to write?
I don’t have a clue at all.
Perhaps I need some banner ads - they’ll fix it!
Uh, I guess not. This site sux. I do not recommend it for any purpose. Except clicking on things, because that will eventually pay for the whole affair (hopefully).
