I have just re-watched Mulholland Drive, David Lynch’s intriguing movie about ..um..stuff. It is hard to pin down. Things change. A movie hasn’t made me feel like this since Fire: Walk With Me. It reminded me a lot of that earlier film. It even had “The Arm” in a bit part. A lot of Aussie actors, too. I counted three.
The similarities to Fire: Walk With Me take me back to the old days. Conception Day 1994 with Sean, Beth, Maziar, Cassandra, Michelle, Csilla and Simon. We analysed that movie to an obsessive degree, conversed in quotes. Mostly it reminds me of Beth. I wonder if the axolotyl is still at that address. I doubt if I will see any of these people again. Times change.
That summer will still remain in my memory as the most perfect, the best mix of friends, freedom and good times. Before things became serious, before the group began to splinter and we all joined subgroups, external groups even.
I know where some of them have gone, but what can I say to them? I am a different person now. I no longer share the things that we had in common back then. So what is the link, besides some ‘old times’ stories? I wouldn’t mind copying some of the photos to fill the gap. Some might even make it up here.

I have not been disconnected from Bigpond Broadband yet. I am used to being disconnected 2-3 times per year when they ‘forget’ to send bills for months at a time, then disconnect me for non payment. Plus the $55 reconnection fee, of course. Good for the share price, you know. In an attempt to thwart their billing incompetence, I conceived of a fiendish plan that would ensure that I never ‘forgot’ to pay a bill again. I organised direct debit from my credit card. Foolproof.
Until today.
Imagine my surprise when I opened my mail to find a letter from Tel$tra (don’t you love that?). This was a proper, formal, ‘pay or else’ type letter, not even a bill with red writing. Not that I even get bills. In summary: Telstra are threatening to disconnect me because they forgot to charge me.
By the way, the billing amount is $22 more than what I am supposed to be charged per month. Seems like some company never reversed those two additional accounts that I cancelled 4 months ago. Sigh.

in the wild.
I still like the game, and I hope that a patch fixes up the netcode. I would hate for Spong to stay right. I mean, he loves Op Flaspoint for God’s sake. Geez. The boringest game in the world. Plus it has washed out gamma issues.
Dice, I know that you are reading this. Please fix it.

One thing stood out though, and it is the reason that I wrote this blog. It is this site. Some bloke has strapped a video camera and RF transmitter onto a model rocket and launched the thing. Watch the videos. They will amuse you for a few minutes. Reminds me of when I was a teenager, and used to make “special effects” videos starring bombs I had made from ground up rocket engines.
